New Year's Resolution Status!

I haven't posted about my resolution status so I thought that now would be a good time to do so! At first I was going to post about it every month but that was starting to feel a little redundant. The last time I wrote was FEBRUARY! It feels like that was so long ago, but at the same time it doesn't feel like that long ago. Either way, I'm kinda glad it's May and not February because we are just 2 short weeks away from Walt Disney World! Anyways, here goes!

1. Read 4 books this year.
I've completed 2 of the books in the The Hunger Games series and I still need to finish the third one. I absolutely LOVED this series. So technically I'm almost finished with my goal but I'm sure I'll read maybe one more book this year.

2. Read Karyn Henley's Day By Day Bible.
Wow- I'm very behind on this. I'm like a whole month behind... actually a month and a half behind. I must add that I've really been working hard the past couple of weeks to catch up. It's going to take a while but my goal is to be completely caught up by the fall when I have to be back at work.

3. Run for 30 minutes without stopping.
I'm so excited to post that I'm almost finished!!! Tomorrow Glory and I are going to attempt the 30 min mark! So far, we've gone to 25 minutes. Either way it'll be done before the end of school! I'm so excited!!!!

4. Write a note of encouragement each month.
Check! I must say, this is one of my favorite things to do and I'm glad I'm getting back into it.

5. Cook 3 new dishes each month.
Well, I can't remember so far back but I'm pretty sure I've completed this. I can't remember what all I've made though. Here is some of what I can think of...
Key Lime Tarts
French Bread
BBQ Pineapple Quesadillas
A PW chicken recipe which didn't work out for me by the way
Strawberry Salad Dressing
Friendship Casserole
Apple Strudel Bars

And maybe a couple more...

6. Say a prayer of just thanksgiving each week.
I don't always remember to do this one. When I do remember, I feel very blessed.

7. Pray for the requests in the church bulletin each week.
This is another one of those things that really doesn't come easy! I'd say I'm getting about every other week.

8. JOY!
I've been finding a lot of joy through prayer and devotion to God. I notice an incredible difference on the days that I draw near to God in the mornings. Most recently I've been listening to sermons online in the morning when I'm doing house chores. It definitely gets my day off to a joyous start!

With the help of the Lord, I'm going strong on my goals! I might not be following them all just yet but I will get there! I've got faith!
